The Secret Life of the mission field

My mission field experience from Nov 2017 to now documented via prayer requests...

In this blog I hope to encourage you regarding the power of prayer.

For years now, I’ve been engaged with a ministry called goTandem. It’s kinda like a community on a Bible App that commits to do life with you via prayer requests among other cool Christian practices/ disciplines.

My mission field experience since my launch out at the end of 2017 to now has all been documented through various strings of emails that begin with a simple greeting and straightforward question...

“Hello Chelsea, from goTandem; how can we pray for you today?”

I don’t actually know the prayer people personally but I do know that their ministry and ministries like such have been the backbone during this season for me to even be doing what I am doing on the mission field.

Prayer matters because of course God is good and wants to do good things but He chooses prayer as a means to get us to move towards standing with a brother or sister in the faith, to help lighten the load, and fight together.

I’ve sent my thank you‘s before, but if anyone from the goTandem prayer community is reading this right now...thank you.

Further, if you are reading this as a friend who likewise prays for me after reading each blog or watching a vlog, thank you.

I may not typically disclose prayer requests more formally to you, but in posting my blogs, I hope to not only let you in on my secret place thoughts about God and missions, but I hope to drive you likewise to your secret place to pray and make your lifestyle incorporate prayer- if not for me, I’m sure there are a million things you can think of that need God’s hand: your family, the government, your finances, your church, a missionary you know, etc.

So Pray.

Prayer, like music, are universal languages that unify believers no matter our age, ethnicity, gender, denomination, organization, financial status, marital status.

Prayer humbles us and gets us humans back in line to realize we need our God to be bigger than our problems and prayer reminds us, He is and He is faithful to bring about that heaven on earth peace we all long for and are essentially crying out for with each and every secret place prayer request.

Now, if you’ve read any of my blogs starting from November 2017 to now, here’s a bit of a different angle of that season via my heart felt prayer requests to goTandem...

First photo below is actually a screen shot from the prayer request I just now sent. Every other one is either dated from 2018-2017 or if the year is left unmentioned, it’s from this 2019 year.

For me it‘s sweet to go back and realize God answered (our) my prayer(s) from those seasons when I look at where I am now and where He’s brought me and still leading me and so I can say with gumption: He will be faithful to answer more and yours!

1. Get in the secret place for yourself and for others.

2. Find your tribe globally and locally, to speak into your life and pray for you.

3. If you don’t see your community where you are at in the flesh praying regularly, you be the one to help usher in the atmosphere and lifestyle.
